Jennifer Hess M.S., LPC
About me:
I was born and raised in the Acadiana area and attended UL of Lafayette for both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. For the past couple of years, I have been in the role of a private practice therapist before that I had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including an inpatient hospital, IOP/PHP setting, and mental health rehabilitation. When not in the office, I am enjoying my other roles which include wife and mother of four kids. I also enjoy learning about other cultures and practicing art in many forms.
My views on therapy and the therapeutic relationship:
I enjoy working with adults of all ages who may be struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions and assisting them in viewing life from different perspectives while finding joy in the present. I utilize an eclectic approach when working with clients including Person-Centered and trauma-informed strategies, DBT, CBT, and mindfulness. I also follow the client as far as incorporating spirituality into our time together whether that is in person or via telehealth.
