I knew I wanted to be a counselor since I was in high school. It’s been one aspect of my life that I never doubted, and I have no doubt it is a calling to serve others. With the support of my family and friends, I was able to return to school after many years and fulfill my lifelong goal to become a counselor. Oddly enough, while in high school, I also knew I wanted to work within the correctional setting and was able to obtain that experience as well which has been so rewarding.
My education is deeply rooted with a Catholic/Christian framework that gives a rich, comprehensive understanding of the nature of the person. Faith is never forced on a client; however, it is an aspect of life and counseling that I am very comfortable implementing if you desire.
Life has its ups and downs and I have been no exception to this. I have personal experience with grief due to child loss (both at birth and miscarriage), balancing motherhood and being a wife while also dealing with depression and fear while battling a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
My passion and hope is to accompany you towards an improved quality of life and mental hygiene. I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach and implement a variety of counseling techniques, specific to your needs.
I am experienced in mood disorders, behavioral concerns, addictions, trauma and crisis counseling, grief, critical medical diagnoses, relationship/couples counseling, personality disorders, and acute/chronic mental health disorders.
